Maddie & Jason this evening

Just some random moments from our evening.  We were home from the beach and I just captured a few sweet moments of Madeline winding down for the night with her dad.  See a few more pictures here.   

Sunset at the beach

We went to the beach this evening right around sunset time.  Maddie had fun running around in the sand, then up on the Bluff park.

Madeline loves reading.   She's just starting to have an interest in reading the volume of Madeline stories.  I loved this book when I was a kid and I'm sure that had some influence on me picking that name for her.  It's fun to see her learn that story.

Anza Borrego

We spent the weekend camping in the desert. The plant life was like nothing we've seen before.  Lots of wildflowers blooming, cacti everywhere!

Malibu Creek Hike

We took a hike to Malibu Creek state park on a nice spring day in March.

We saw a lot of pretty scenery.  The hike was through some old ranch land that was used by some studios to film sets for TV & Movies.  Most notably - M.A.S.H was filmed here, and we saw some remnants of the set - pretty cool!  Madeline liked seeing the critters and hearing all of the different sounds of nature.  It was nice for us to get out and see some of the beautiful landscape that is right here within the greater Los Angeles area - who knew?  I'm glad we found this place - it was really a beautiful hike.
